Abstract
This study aimed to prioritize the barriers to green production and compare them in micro, small, and medium manufacturing enterprises in Kermanshah. This quantitative study involved managers and owners of micro, small, and medium manufacturing enterprises in Kermanshah, with a sample size of 120 participants. Data collection was conducted using a closed-response questionnaire, whose content validity was confirmed by five experts in the field. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to assess the reliability of the research tool, which was found to be acceptable for the studied factors. The Cronbach's alpha value for the studied factors was also calculated to be above 0.7. According to the findings, among the barriers to green production strategies in the studied micro, small, and medium manufacturing enterprises, "high short-term costs" had the highest priority, while "political situation" had the lowest priority. Additionally, there was a significant difference in the mean barriers related to economic situation, political situation, high short-term costs, low public pressure, and weak foreign collaborations based on the size of the manufacturing enterprises (micro, small, and medium). Therefore, it is recommended that, to adopt and implement green production strategies, laws and regulations should be enacted to obligate manufacturing enterprises, and services such as investment guarantee fund services and green subsidies should be provided by the government to these enterprises.
