Water scarcity threatens farmers' livelihoods more than anything else by reducing crop yields and cultivated areas, in addition to impacting health and food security. Guilan Province is one of the most important rice producers in the country, with most of its paddy fields covered by the Sefidrood Irrigation and Drainage Network. In recent years, due to upstream water withdrawals in the Sefidrood Basin and sediment accumulation in the Sefidrood Dam, the water inflow to Guilan Province has decreased. Resilience can enhance rural livelihoods aftershocks and challenges, steering them toward sustainability. This study evaluates paddy farmers' access to sustainable livelihood assets and measures the resilience of beneficiaries of the Sefidrood Irrigation and Drainage Network against water scarcity, based on the sustainable livelihood approach. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of five sections and 129 questions. The sample included 389 paddy farmers in water-stressed areas of the Sefidrood Irrigation and Drainage Network, with the sample size determined using Bartlett’s table and stratified sampling from various villages. Findings from the standardization method using min-max values showed that farmers' access to livelihood assets and their resilience against water scarcity-under both equal and unequal weighting scenarios-was at a moderate level.
