Sustainable agriculture, despite its pivotal importance in food security and the economy, faces complex challenges. These challenges are more pronounced in regions such as the Sahneh Plain, which grapples with various issues in its agricultural sector. This research aimed to examine the socio-cultural factors affecting farmers' tendency towards sustainable methods. It was conducted with a quantitative approach within the framework of a positivist paradigm. The statistical population consisted of 421 well owners/operators in the Sahneh Plain, located in Kermanshah Province, from which 201 individuals were selected through proportional stratified sampling. Data were collected using a researcher-developed questionnaire, whose validity and reliability were confirmed, and analyzed using correlation and multiple regression. The results indicated that the overall tendency towards sustainable methods is at a medium (mean=3.05) and unfavorable level. Regression analysis revealed that environmental attitude (with a standardized coefficient of 0.729), income (0.418), social trust (-0.465), and age (-0.419) are, in that order, significant predictors of the tendency towards sustainability. A noteworthy point is the significant emergence of the variables age and income in the regression model, despite their non-significance in the simple correlation analysis, which stems from the phenomenon of the "suppressor effect." Furthermore, the strong correlation of more practical attitude indicators (such as belief in the efficacy of appropriate cropping patterns) with tendency underscores the central role of perceiving the effectiveness of tangible solutions. Overall, the results suggest that promoting sustainability in . Without simultaneous attention to these psychological, economic, and social dimensions, purely technical programs will not succeed..
