E-commerce is very important in expanding business activities. Today, with the technology development of technology, there are new methods in the field of doing business activities. The use of the Internet could be mentioned among the best and most reliable methods, which provides the possibility to expand marketing activities globally and attract different groups of customers worldwide. E-commerce has changed and improved the way of production and marketing of goods and has led to the creation of new opportunities for existing businesses as well as the formation of new business models. The main purpose of the current study was to analyze and compare the knowledge-based companies of Sistan and Baluchistan province as well as identify the infrastructure and facilities needed to start e-commerce in these types of companies. Therefore, the studied sample was 162 members of knowledge-based companies inside and outside of the Science and Technology Park of Sistan and Baluchistan province, who were selected using the stratified random sampling method from two groups of companies of agriculture and non-agriculture. The data collection tool was a questionnaire and its face validity was confirmed by the professors of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Education at Shiraz University. To check the reliability of the questionnaire, a pilot study was conducted from a sample of 30 individuals out of the main sample, including members of knowledge-based companies in the Science and Technology Park of Fars province. The range of alpha Cronbach was computed between 0.7 and 0.96. According to the results, knowledge-based companies located in the Science and Technology Park had a more positive attitude (39.31 of 50) towards starting e-commerce compared to knowledge-based companies outside the park. Of course, these companies considered the need for technical training (16.71 of 25) and support (19.46 of 25) as essential factors. Female entrepreneurs had a more favorable situation than their male counterparts in terms of creativity (34.48 of 56), risk-taking (18.78 of 35) and digital marketing (44.61 of 60). According to the findings of the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), the technical-network infrastructure took the highest percentage (71%) among the categories of facilities necessary to start e-commerce, and after that, the supporting-legal (17%), educational (9%) and cultural infrastructures (3%) ranked next. In this regard, it is suggested that those in charge of e-commerce should pay more attention to the issue of privacy and personal information of people. The availability of experts and technical specialists to the owners of electronic businesses can solve some of the concerns of these types of entrepreneurs.
